happytwinflames: #this 1x19 moment is one of those seemingly subtle moments that has a huge meaning in the long run #because Damon doesn’t stay down there for Stefan’s sake #he was totally going to go since Damon’s an ‘action’ type of guy #and he knows he can’t help Stefan in any way regardless of where he is #but it’s important for Elena to stay down there #and he accepts and understands this need #and he stays with her because he doesn’t want *her* to be alone #not because it’s important for him or for Stefan but for Elena #this is his second action of the day that has nothing to do with anybody but her #because what Elena feels is important for him even though he wouldn’t want to admit it at this point #and not a single word is spoken #because actions speak louder
